The design of analog interfaces presents many challenges for analog, digital, embedded, and system designers. Addressing the often diverse requirements of these analog interfaces and the verification of the design can be costly and time consuming. Xilinx's Agile Mixed Signal technology offers a better way to scale and customize common analog interfaces requirements. This technology is a unique combination of a flexible analog interface (XADC block) and the programmable logic capability of 7 series FPGAs and ZynqTM-7000 Extensible Processing Platform (EPP). With the increased emphasis on trimming production costs and time to market, first-pass silicon success has become a fundamental requirement for system-onchip (SoC) designs. First-pass silicon success can only be achieved through a comprehensive methodology for verifying the functional, timing, and analog/digital signal interface of a design. This article addresses the challenges associated wit...
متن کاملAnalog and Mixed Signal Circuits On Digital CMOS Processes
Abstract CMOS processes that have been developed primarily for logic are now increasingly used for analog and mixed signal applications. Process restrictions, wide parametric variance, and noisy application environments lead to special efforts in circuit design/architecture, layout techniques, and optimizing the use of a limited process. This paper addresses a combination of techniques that pro...
متن کاملModeling and Simulation of Substrate Noise in Mixed-Signal Circuits Applied to a Special VCO
The mixed-signal circuits with both analog and digital blocks on a single chip have wide applications in communication and RF circuits. Integrating these two blocks can cause serious problems especially in applications requiring fast digital circuits and high performance analog blocks. Fast switching in digital blocks generates a noise which can be introduced to analog circuits by the common su...
متن کاملSpeeding Up Analog Integration and Test for Mixed-Signal SoCs
Today's integrated circuits with embedding processing capabilities have an ever increasing analog content. While this helps to build richer end applications easily, it significantly complicates the design process. A gamut of heterogeneous analog and digital functional modules must now be integrated across different voltage levels and interfaces. Analog integration and test is hence emerging as ...
